Twitter-like sites
Everybody knows Twitter... Its main strengths are in the community in itself and how pervasively it can be used (from the Web, IM clients, desktop applications for Windows, Linux and Mac...).
There's been a huge debate on "what Twitter really is", and the best definition in my opinion is "micro-blogging".
But there are many other services with analogies with Twitter, and sometimes offering something more:
From Finland:
Jaiku (posts from/to mobile phones, nice graphics)
From Italy:
Hictu (contact list with presence information for IM and VoIP. Disclaimer: I work with Hictu)
From Japan:
- Haru
- Timelog
- mogo2
From China:
Komoo
From Germany:
Kamadu
For German and French speaking users:
Frazr
What do you think about these sites? Do you know any other service following the same "micro-blogging" philosophy?

Meshly (http://www.meshly.com) is similar to these services. However, unlike Twitter, the focus is not about what the individual is up to. Its much more about sharing information and ideas within communities in the form of quick bookmarks with social commentary.
I guess the only real similarity between Twitter and Meshly is the fact that you can post via IM.
Although I might be biased, I think Meshly is much more useful.
